New Product: Radio opaque polymers
A Series of tungsten-filled thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), polyamids (PA), and olefins are radio opaque, making them candidates for medical devices.
Compared to competitive
materials, the new grades reportedly
mold with smoother surfaces,
are easier to injection mold or extrude,
resist solvents, and have a high specific
gravity. They come in Shore hardness
ranges of 75A to 75D and can be ordered
in quantities ranging from 25 to
500,000 lb.
