Free Simulation Software Available to Students Worldwide
ANSYS’ Student simulation software package, available for free download, allows aspiring engineers to perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations outside of the classroom. When using the introductory academic software package, students explore ANSYS simulation workflows, pre-processing, post-processing, and solver solutions that have become a standard in the engineering workforce.
Students can work with fundamental tutorial level models, as well as complex real-world scale models.
“Our students find it convenient to have the software on their computers to complete homework and projects," said Rajesh Bhaskaran, Swanson director of engineering at Cornell University.
Although face-to-face technical support is not provided for ANSYS Student, Support Resources include a product-installation video, FAQs, YouTube HowTo videos, and YouTube Tech Tips. An ANSYS student community can be found on the ANSYS Student Facebook Page and is open to all students and student teams. Free online ANSYS CFD and FEA student training is available for fluid dynamics and mechanics, along with tutorials and examples from several universities.
"We're proud to equip next-generation engineers with ANSYS' leading software technology, both inside and outside of the classroom," said Mark Hindsbo, ANSYS' vice president of marketing. "Investing in STEM education is critical for the global economy, and we at ANSYS are passionate about doing what we can to enable the students of today to be the best possible engineers of tomorrow."
