Aerospace Circuit Breaker

Oct. 21, 2004
The 4140 circuit breaker is the single-pole companion to the company's 5140 three-pole high-performance model.

AEROSPACE CIRCUIT BREAKER

The temperature-compensated breaker provides consistent trip curve characteristics from 55 to 90°C and operates at temperatures from 55 to 125°C. It is designed for 115-V (400-Hz) or 28-Vdc applications from 20 to 50 A. Service life is 5,000 mechanical cycles and 2,500 inductive cycles. Maximum altitude is 49,175 ft. In addition to aircraft applications, it is suitable for rugged ground vehicles where high-performance circuit protection and resistance to mechanical vibration and shock are required. By meeting Mil-Std 202, method-101 test condition B for salt-spray tests, the breaker is also approved for marine applications where corrosion, mechanical specifications, and weight are concerns.
