Bearings hold pump gears steady

The Series 5500 gear pumps from Micropump Vancouver, Wash., (www.micropump.com), feature an open ball-bearing design that stabilizes the pumping gears, minimizes friction, and extends the pump's service life. The reduced friction also eliminates material shedding, so fluids are delivered clean. The pulseless pump, designed to move heat-transfer liquids like 3M's dielectric Fluorinert, sends fluids directly through the bearings, keeping them cool and rotating smoothly, which helps extend bearing life. The pump can move fluids at 21 liter/min at 1,750 rpm and 45 psi.
