Belt-Driven Linear Transmission

Feb. 17, 2005
The DLS5 is a belt-driven linear transmission with a 50-mm-wide belt for handling large loads.

It sits on an aluminum beam of up to 6 m and is fitted with a HepcoMotion GV3 precision-ground slide. The combination of a Vee bearing and cap wiper ensures precise motion even in hostile working environments. The unit is suitable for single and double-axis gantries. The carriage has a maximum load capacity of 10,000 N and the single beam can accommodate multiple carriages for larger loads. The unit drive force is 2,450 N with speed up to 6 m/sec. Drive is via toothed timing belt and pulley. Standard features include simple belt-tensioning screw adjustments, brush seals, and end-of-stroke bumpers at both ends. Units can be equipped with a plain input shaft, a fitted geared motor, or tailored to marry with an existing gearbox.
