Radel R-5800 TR polyphenylsulfone, a high-performance transparent plastic used in reusable medical devices, is now available in a range of bright colors — violet, fuchsia, orange, blue, yellow, and black. The polymer has good impact resistance and a 405°F (207°C) heat-deflection temperature, so it withstands repeated high temperature, pressurized-steam sterilization and impacts without cracking or breaking. It also has good hydrolytic stability, is inherently flame retardant, and resists aggressive cleansers and disinfectants.
