A Busbar That Flexes

Nov. 18, 2004
Eriflex Flexibar conductor is a stack of electrolytic copper laminates protected by durable PVC insulation.

A busbar that flexes

The laminates can move within the insulation, providing unlimited twisting and bending possibilities, which make panelboard, switchboard, and motor-control center assembly easier. Users create their own terminals by stripping the insulation and punching the laminates, thus saving money on lugs and associated labor. Maximum continuous voltage is 1 kVac. It is UL rated for 600 V maximum and CSA certified for 1 kV maximum. Flexibar meets IEC 439-1requirements, has approval for shipboard installation and maintenance requirements from Bureau Veritas, and maintains an Attestation of Conformity from CETE APAVE Lyonnaise.
