Clamp keeps covers and doors sealed

March 6, 2003
Steel bolts, carbon-steel clamps, and some other fastening systems might keep covers, seals, doors, and panels closed, but using them takes two hands, and often some tools as well.

A new clamp from Witte Co., Washington, N.J. (www.witte.com), grips steel, aluminum, plastics, composites, wood, and other materials and uses a one-handed handle. The clamp can be attached to the equipment, so it never gets lost and is always close at hand. Forged of steel and aluminum, it resists corrosion and chemical environments. It has also earned USDA approval for operations in many food processing, manufacturing, and packaging applications.
