A Complete and Compact Conveyor

Oct. 5, 2009
Dorner’s iDrive conveyor includes the motor, controller and gearbox, yet has a slim profile and small footprint.

The iDrive conveyor from Dorner Manufacturing Co., Hartland, Wis. (www.dorner.com), is designed to move relatively small parts (up to 30 lb). It packages the motor, motor controller, and gearbox inside the conveyor. This makes for a smaller footprint than conventional conveyors and reduces the need for wiring and mounting. The 1.25-in. drive roller also keeps the conveyor slim and compact.

The unit will move 30-lb loads at 7 to 70 fpm, and 23-lb loads at 10 to 100 fpm. Conveyor width can be anywhere from 3 to 18 in., and length from 18 in. to 12 ft. Rack-and-pinion belt tensioning is fast and accurate, and built-in indicators alert operators when tensioning is needed.
