Compression And Extension Dampers

Sept. 1, 2005
A full line of compression and extension dampers is for applications where a heavy load or door must lower or swing in a controlled motion at constant speed.

The dampers are forceabsorbing devices and come in two types to control speed in either compression or extension, depending on the mounting position. A piston with a small orifice that must pass through hydraulic oil controls speed. The devices are made in rod/tube-diameter sizes from 0.24 0.59 in. to 0.315 0.87 in., with stroke lengths from 2 to 7 in., extended lengths from 7.9 to 19.7 in., and maximum load capacities from 50 to 100-lb load/damper. Heavy, medium-heavy, medium, medium-light, and light-damping dampers are available.
