Counting Cycles In Double-Diaphragm Air Pumps

Aug. 18, 2005
Cycle Counting, a new option on some air-operated double-diaphragm pumps, gives users a method of measuring how much fluid is moved through the pump.

It sends a signal from the cycle count valve to a PC, PLC, relay, or switch after each cycle completes. The signal can also be interpreted by data-acquisition centers for automated input. The controller can then regulate a valve on the air line or fluid discharge line based on a number of cycles. With the cycle count valve, the number of cycles can be monitored from any workstation networked with the cycle counter.
