Dc-motor controllers

April 5, 2001
Three standard controllers handle three-phase, brushless dc motors.

Three standard controllers handle three-phase, brushless dc motors. The motor controllers come in 5, 10, and 20 A and are operational from 11 to 52 Vdc. Protection features include overtemperature sensing, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and current-limit shutdown. The controllers have 60 or 120° selectable electrical spacing, tach output, and a forward/reverse selectable. Speed control input is set through a potentiometer or 0 to 5-Vdc analog input. The 20-A version has an added braking function.
