Dc/dc Converters

Nov. 18, 2004
The PSS Series of ultracompact dc-dc converters reportedly provides double the power of comparably sized converters.

Dc/dc converters

The converters are designed for use in applications ranging from factory automation to communications equipment. The Series consists of 48 RoHScompliant models with power ratings of 1.5, 3, 6, and 10 W and each rating can be supplied with 5, 12, 24, and 48-V nominal input voltages and with 3.3, 5 or 12-V outputs. Package sizes measure from 0.79 0.63 0.31 in. for the 1.5-W models to 1.61 1.02 0.31 in. for the 10-W version. Housed in a ventilated case, the converters weigh 4 gm for the 1.5-W unit and 14 gm for the 10-W unit. Operating temperatures are from 40 to 85°C full load with an airflow of 1 m/sec. Input to output isolation is 500 Vac.
