The Powerpack linear system from Schneeberger Inc., Bedford, Mass. (schneeberger.com), combines a linear drive with a measuring system, limit switch, and monorail guideways. It can be configured for X-Y axes or as a gantry system. Cable-management components mount on the side of the drive, minimizing the guideway's height. It can carry up to 40 kg, depending on the motor, with repeatability of 1.1 m and accuracy between 20 and 70 m. Maximum speed is 3 m/sec, and maximum acceleration is 50 m/sec 2 . Lengths range up to 1,792 mm, and hardware does not need a baseplate; it can bolt to existing mounting fixtures for simple and low-cost installation.
