Liquid-Level Sensor

June 16, 2005
The USTD II sensor uses magnetostrictive technology for absolute level gaging, temperature, product and water-level output information in underground storage tanks for fuel and solvent applications such as gas station fuel storage.

Dual floats measure product level and water. The gauge measures individual and average temperatures using five integrated temperature transmitters accurate to ±0.5°F (±0.25°C). An RS-485 interface transfers remote data to the tank management system. The unit is intrinsically safe and has safety approvals for Zones 0 and 1 — ATEX EEx is IIB T4 and FM is Class I, Div. 1. The gauge is available in lengths of 29 to 149 in. (740 to 3800 mm) and operates in process temperatures from ?40 to 160°F (?40 to 71°C). The sensor comes in both flange and fill-tube mounting styles.
