Lockable Push-To-Close Slide Latch

Feb. 9, 2006
Thermoplastic A3 push-to-close slide latches secure sheet metal and thin thermoplastic door panels.

An integrated lockplug housing gives added security without a separate key-cam lock. The one-piece design simplifies latch installation. Both the locking and nonlocking versions readily snap into position in identically sized rectangular holes. Panel thickness ranges from 8 to 16 mm. A molded-in spring tab holds the latch in place. The latched door opens by sliding the springloaded handle. Pushing the door closed reengages the latch. The lock also can be engaged to restrict access when the door is closed.

The A3 is part of the "one-lock system" with more than 500 key codes. Keys are ordered in pairs, in either flat or overmolded style. Molded icons on the lock housing indicate whether the lock is engaged or not. A smooth plug fills the lock hole for nonlocking-style latches. A black ABS body, glass-reinforced nylon lockplug, and stainless-steel spring resist corrosion. Applications include enclosures for network, telecom, computer, electronics, industrial equipment, and transportation.
