Low-Gloss Automotive ABS

June 7, 2006
Magnum SLG, an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resin has a low-gloss finish and resists scratches and mars.

The ABS is for automotive interiors and reportedly exits molds with equivalent or lower gloss levels in textured parts than commonly used polypropylene resins. It boasts high stiffness over a wide temperature range and can mold thin-walled parts, important in cutting weight. The resin delivers outstanding lot-to-lot consistency, giving processors a wider range of appearance options without compromising color tolerances.
