The lightweight SVX100 kayak tackles Class-4 whitewaters.

The inflatable SVX100 kayak from Sevylor USA Inc., Los Angeles, is strong, yet lightweight. Specializing in inflatables gave Sevylor a head start in the design process and kept challenges to a minimum.

The kayak has an outer hull made of a PVC/polyester/PVC sandwich composition, and the removable inner hull is heavy-duty PVC. The kayak has eight drain holes and features special plugs to eliminate the selfbailing function for flat-water travel on cold days. The kayak includes a carry bag and comes with one seat that has a detachable pouch and two bottle holders. Provisions are included to tie down cargo or dry bags in the bow or stern.

The kayak is recommended for Class-4 whitewaters, which are characterized by long rapids and powerful waves and are best suited to riders with previous experience.
