Microhardness testers - Buehler

June 4, 2011
The testers perform Vickers or Knoop microhardness testing

MicroMet 6000 Series microindentation hardness testers perform Vickers and Knoop dead-weight microhardness tests. The testers have monochromatic, parallel-beam LED illumination and an integrated digital camera. The testers used loads from 0.01 to 1.0 kg, with a 2-kg option.
MicroMet 6010 and 6020 use 10x and 50x objectives, one indenter, and two objective positions on the turret. Both have a USB port for data transfer, while MicroMet 6020 may be automated using OmniMet MHT software. MicroMet 6030 and 6040 come with 5x, 10x and 50x objectives and a turret that accommodates up to four objective positions. The 6030 has a single indenter while the 6040 has both Vickers and Knoop indenters in addition to long-work-distance optics.
Setup and data entry are via an LCD touchscreen interface with a tabbed menu structure that lets users access any setting within three clicks. USB ports permit data export and use of OmniMet MHT software for automation. Rugged hard-switch buttons permit robust daily operation.
Calibration certificates for the tester, test-blocks, and indenter conform to internationally recognized micro-hardness testing standards. Options include manual or motorized XY stage and manual or motorized z-axis movement.
