NC Software Works With Seven-Axis Digitizers

Feb. 3, 2005
The latest Surfcam NC software can use any FARO six or seven-axis portable digitizers as an auxiliary pointing device to input 3D-coordinate data into an active Surfcam session.

It also lets Surfcam users mix digitized input with other input modes. This facilitates model creation, toolpath generation, and material-removal simulation in a single environment that continuously displays the FaroARM probe tip for graphical verification. Users can create, edit, generate, and simulate toolpaths, then machine complex surface models in a single setup without file transfers. The interface is well suited for reverse engineering complex 3D objects.
