New Product: Reinforced polymer beats the heat

Oct. 11, 2007
A proprietary blend of polyetheretherkeyton (PEEK), Celazole polybenzimidazole (PBI), and carbon-fiber reinforcement retains mechanical properties at temperatures up to 300°C (572°F).

This makes the TF-60C compound a candidate for metals and nonmelt processible high-temperature plastics such as polyimides. The carbon-fiber reinforced polymer has high strength and low creep. It also sports a low coefficient of friction, is melt processible, and is suited for soldering tools, cassettes, wafer transportation and chamber parts in spin coating, etching, and PVD for the semiconductor and electronics industries.
