Orbital-forming head

April 1, 2005
Gold Series orbital-forming heads reportedly offer a tenfold increase in forming force and bearing life over the company's previous designs.

The units incorporate a stack of angular contact bearings as the primary forming element, as opposed to a single row of bearings found in standard heads. This increases allowable thrust loads up to 10 times. In addition to efficiency and longevity, the redesigned orbital heads are suited for jobs that require higher capacity in a smaller envelope, such as multispindle heads and close-center applications. The Gold Series replaces all brands of orbital heads and features no-maintenance "lubed for life" bearings and 0.005-in. runout accuracy.
