Pint-sized speedster

A 10-mm-diameter stepmotor, called MSD-10, features a high power-to-size ratio and a rotor design based on a thin, multipolar, rare-earth-magnet disc. The step motor can operate to 10,000 rpm with a holding torque to 1.8 mN-m. MSD-10 can be microstepped or driven in full-step mode at 24 steps/rev. Key application areas include fiber-optic telecommunication and medical equipment.
