The new EPOS2 24/2 miniaturized positioning controller is designed for commanding and controlling in the CANopen network, with USB and RS-232 available as further communication interfaces. A variety of operating modes, such as position, velocity, and current, makes it suitable for automation technology, tool building, and in mechatronic-drive systems. Functions include step/direction mode for incrementally controlling motor-shaft movement or master encoder mode for applying the drive as electronic gearing. Commanding through an analog set value voltage may replace conventional servoamplifier applications.

The EPOS2 24/2 features a dual-loop position and speed controller. In Interpolated Position Mode (PVT), the controller can synchronously follow a path set by support points. During start-up, current, speed, or position controls can be set through enhanced regulation tuning.
