PTDA holds summit, announces leadership

More than 800 people attended the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) Industry Summit in October where the association elected its 2007 Board of Directors and Manufacturer Council.

Jeffrey H. Pickelman, Northern Industrial Supply Inc. (Saginaw, Mich.), is president. John Masek, Bearing Service Inc. (Livonia, Mich.), is first vice president. Drew Tucci, Eastern Bearings Inc. (Waltham, Mass.), will serve as second vice president. Kevin McCloskey, Kaman Industrial Technologies Corp. (Windsor, Conn.), will serve as treasurer.

William A. Childers, NSK Corp. (Ann Arbor, Mich.), becomes Manufacturer Council chair. Robert Ruland, Ruland Manufacturing Co. Inc. (Marlborough, Mass.), becomes Manufacturer Council vice chair.

Other board directors include: Rob Creswell, Creswell Industrial Supply (Chattanooga, Tenn.); Craig O. Faber, Miller Bearings Inc. (Orlando, Fla.); James S. Gibney, Warren M. Pike Assoc., Div J. G. Industries Inc. (Hopkinton, Mass.); Ronald Herem, Baldwin Supply Co. (Minneapolis); Wayne Law, Motion Industries Inc. (Birmingham, Ala.); and Keith Nowak, MPT Drives, Inc. (Madison Heights, Mich).

Other Manufacturer Council directors include: Randy Breaux, Baldor Electric Co. (Fort Smith, Ark.); Took Coder, TB Wood's Inc. (Chambersburg, Pa.); Robert J. Daniel, The Timken Co. (Canton, Ohio); Peter J. Horn, Federal-Mogul Corp. (South Field, Mich.); Pamela Kan, Bishop-Wisecarver Corp. (Pittsburg, Calif.); Russell Perry, Renold Canada Ltd. (Brantford, Ont., Canada); and Wendell Witten, Warner Electric, Div. Altra Industrial Motion, Inc. (South Beloit, Ill.).

In addition, the PTDA named Roger A. Pennycook, former president of Boston Gear and former vice president of Textron Fluid & Power, the 17th recipient of its Warren Pike Award for lifetime achievement in the power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) industry.

Pennycook served on the PTDA Manufacturer Council from 1984 to 1988 and as its chair in 1987. He was a board director for two years and served on the association's steering committee for four. He played a key role in the development and growth of the PTDA Foundation, serving as a trustee from 1992 to 1994 and as its president in 1993 and 1994.
