Rolling bearings

Dec. 8, 2005
A new class of Explorer bearings includes spherical roller bearings, angular-contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, spherical thrust bearings, tapered-roller bearings, deep-groove ball bearings, and four-point contact ball bearings

. The products are said to last 300% longer and exceed performance normally expected with those designed to ISO tolerance specifications. The use of low-oxygen content steel and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques prevent formation of fatigue-causing oxide inclusions, extending life and reducing fatigue failure. Ground transition raceways/shoulders handle higher thrust loads, lower overall contact stresses, and reduce edge stresses for increased power density, load rating, and safety.
