Tol-O-Matic, Hamel, Minn.

Tol-O-Matic, Hamel, Minn., offers Tol-O-Motion pneumatic band cylinder sizing and selection software. The software provides a list of solutions with specifications and recommended accessories. Distributors and end-users download the complimentary software from www.bandcylinders.com to reduce re-search time and benchmarking. Operating in a Windows environment, it guides the user through each screen with prompts. Users input stroke length and actuator orientation and select one or more styles. Then the software requests load data including the load weight the cylinder will be moving, external forces that will affect load movement, and coordinates to locate load center of gravity. Using this data, the software calculates bending moments automatically. In the final step, users input motion data. Static and dynamic moments are calculated, and a list of actuators is provided. The software produces documentation and performance graphs for cylinders meeting or exceeding requirements.
