Solid-state pressure switch combines electronics and fluid power

Oct. 11, 2001
A new hydraulic pressure switch from Norgen-Herion, Warrendale, Pa., relies on solid-state electronics for its reliability, fast switching (less than 10 msec), and long life -up to 100 million cycles.

It can handle pressures ranging from vacuum to 10,000 psi. It is fully programmable for NO, NC, or window-mode operation and features a real-time LCD with selectable pressure units. The deep-drawn aluminum housing, together with a plastic keypad overlay, protects against harsh environments. Wetted parts are stainless steel, so the switch will work with a wide variety of fluids.
