Strip-alloy cutting and splicing system - Joining Technologies, Inc.

Nov. 11, 2010
The system uses a single head to both cut and weld the ends of metal strips for splicing.

Infinite Web 355 laser cutting and welding system splices the leading and trailing edges of metal coils in strip-processing lines to permit continuous-feed operations. A single head cuts and welds, and the system works with iron and nickel-based alloys in a variety of widths and thicknesses.

The system is mobile to service multiple converting lines and requires a single electrical input. An industrial PC-based control system works via touch-screen interface and comes with preprogrammed recipes and self-diagnostic capability. Coaxial optics verify positioning for precise and accurate splices.
