At the event, igus was previewing its ReBel six-axis cobot and its lubricant-free gears. According to Alexander Mühlens, head of Low-Cost Automation at igus, all a company needs to implement the cobot is a power supply and the freeware. The cobot has a 2 kg payload and a maximum reach of 600 mm.
The ReBel’s motion plastics are also made of high-performance polymers that don’t require lubrication, resulting in lower cost automation for smaller companies or companies that don’t want to invest in expensive automation tools up front.
