Ultrason P 3010, a polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), joins a family of polyarylsulfones that include Ultrason S (PSU) and Ultrason E (PESU) grades. Ultrason P combines the high melting temperature of Ultrason E with the low-water absorption of Ultrason S. It has good chemical and notched-impact resistance. It’s Charpy notched-impact strength is reportedly almost 10 greater than that of other amorphous high-temperature materials. It also withstands hot steam sterilization, strong cleansers and disinfectants as well — up to 2,000 hot-steam cycles.
