Exploring Lotus’s New Elise Cup 250

June 14, 2017
Adding over 200 hp to a lightweight two-seater is always a sure-fire winner.

Engineers at Lotus upgraded and refined the Elise and came up with a Cup version, The Elise Cup 250. Being a Cup version means drivers can use it every day on the road, then take it to specific tracks and race it in one of the company’s Cup Series races that are held all over the world. The car costs a little over $60,000, just five grand more than a standard Corvette, but only 200 of them will be built each year. And the car won’t be sold in the U.S. until the next-generation comes out in 2020.
