Dyneon acquires PVDF plant

Dyneon LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of 3M, St. Paul (www.dyneon.com), has completed the acquisition of Solvay Fluoropolymers Inc., a subsidiary of Solvay America Inc., Decatur, Ala.
Dyneon LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of 3M, St. Paul (www.dyneon.com), has completed the acquisition of Solvay Fluoropolymers Inc., a subsidiary of Solvay America Inc., Decatur, Ala. (www.solvayamerica.com). Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) fluoroplastic products formerly marketed under the Solef brand by Solvay Fluoropolymers will be marketed under the Dyneon brand. The acquisition includes the PVDF manufacturing facilities in Decatur and the remaining 50% interest in Alventia LLC, a joint venture between Solvay Fluoropolymers and Dyneon that produces VF2, the main component of PVDF.
