LCD inverter keeps low profile

LDS Series dc-ac inverters from Endicott Research Group Inc., Endicott, N.Y., come in a compact form factor for use with LCD panel sized 6.4 to 12.1 in. diagonally.

The inverters are 133.1 X 31.0 X 9.0 mm and run up to four cold-cathode fluorescent lamps with a combined power of 12 W. An external analog control and an onboard pulse-width modulator provide dimming control. LDS inverters can reliably dim to less than 5% of duty cycle and operate at temperatures from 20 to 70°C.
