D&D Motor Systems Inc., Syracuse, N.Y., a maker of electric motors and controllers, says its regenerative braking also increases vehicle range from 2 to 10%, depending on setup and application. The company’s motors additionally go into small cars such as Volkswagens, Geo Metros, Datsuns, and Fiats, as well as mining vehicles, forklifts, boats, and bow thrusters.
