The Robots Are Working Hard at IMTS 2016

Sept. 12, 2016
A number of companies at this year’s International Manufacturing and Technology Show are highlighting the power of collaborative and safe-zone robots.

The International Manufacturing and Technology Show 2016 is putting on a display of collaborative robots. There are two types of robots that can be used safely in the industry in conjunction with engineers and shop-floor workers. The first type are robots that are smaller in size, have safety features built in, and have a limited payload delivery as well as range of movement. Upon coming in contact with a person or if a person enters the robot’s work area, the robot will slow down or come to a stop. The second type will have a safety work zone that is maintained with sensors and/or cameras to detect any danger to their human operators.
