Hydrocolloid adhesive materials can now be converted for short and long-term wound care, surgical dressings, and ostomy applications

Hydrocolloid adhesive materials can now be converted for short and long-term wound care, surgical dressings, and ostomy applications. The materials are durable, absorb fluid, and cause little or no skin trauma. Matching the right hydrocolloid-adhesive formulation and substrate for medical applications depends on a number of factors: short or long-term skin use; resistance to heat, moisture, and pressure; compatibility with sterilization; and fluid resistance. The adhesives come in double or single-coated tapes, and in roll form.
