Customized leadscrew nuts for highend motion-control applications are made from polymers and can be molded into any shape or with complex features. The standard material is self-lubricating polyacetal, which offers dimensional stability, good tensile strength, and is easy to machine. The nuts are impregnated with TFE for a permanent, self-lubricating thread contact surface.

Besides polyacetal, the nuts can be made from many alternative plastics, including PEEK, polyester, Torlon PAI (polyamide-imides), Vespel polyimide-based resin, PVDF, Ertalyte PET-P (polyethylene terephthalate), and customer-supplied specialty materials, as well as from bronze, brass, and stainless steel.

Thread diameters range from 2 (5™/64›œ in.) up to 24 mm (15ž™/16Ÿ› in.). Thread leads are available from 0.30 (0.012 in.) in the smallest diameter (2-mm) nut up to 76.2 mm (3.000 in.) in the largest diameter (24-mm) nut.
