The cylindrical design of the linear-shaft motor provides two benefits: The motor uses 100% of magnetic flux and it uses the flux at maximum efficiency. All available magnetic flux cuts the coils at a 90° angle. The motor’s design also provides stiffness up to 100 times that of comparable motors.

The energy-efficient motor minimizes generated heat and reduces the impact heat has on the work point, does not produce Eddy currents, and has no cogging issues. As a result, it can produce submicron motion profiles.
