Nonmagnetic encoders

Numerik Jena linear and rotary nonmagnetic encoders have been tested in environments up to 6 Tesla.

Numerik Jena linear and rotary nonmagnetic encoders have been tested in environments up to 6 Tesla. The encoders withstand these highmagnetic environments without loss of accuracy or resolution and are mechanically stable.

The LIK Linear Series has a 20-micron graduation on glass. Digital versions have resolutions to 50 nm, and the digitizing electronics are in the connector. With loose mounting tolerances of the scanning unit in relation to the 20-micron scale, and three mounting configurations for the scanning unit, the LIK Series provides motion feedback for high-magnetic environments.

The RIK Rotary Series is a kit-style bearingless rotary encoder that has a disk with various diameters and line counts, and nonmagnetic scanning units to match those diameters. Various-size aluminum disks contain a 20-micron graduation that are epoxied to the customer’s hub design. Both devices use the Epiflex Adjustment Tool to improve the signal margin during installation on the machine.
