Voice-coil actuator

The LAH24-67-000A linear voice-coil actuator features magnetic latches at each end of travel for critical applications where a specific “stop” position is desired when the coil is deenergized. Applications include proportional valve control, circuit breakers, and load movement.

The LAH24-67-000A linear voice-coil actuator features magnetic latches at each end of travel for critical applications where a specific “stop” position is desired when the coil is deenergized. Applications include proportional valve control, circuit breakers, and load movement.

The actuator provides 0.44-in. travel with 115-lb peak force and 37-lb continuous force. The unit features a split coil (in this case five coils), which acts like multiple actuators in parallel, multiplying the force without increasing the stroke.

The actuator features direct-drive, hysteresis-free operation for accurate motion; high acceleration; no commutation; and resolution limited only by the encoder used for feedback.
