New Possibilities in Precision Robotics: Hexapods Advance Production Processes

Six-legged parallel-kinematic machines, aka hexapods, open up new levels of flexibility in precision automation in applications, including semiconductor manufacturing, automotive engineering, and precision assembly. Integration is facilitated by controllers that communicate to PLCs via fieldbus and EtherCat interfaces. With load capacities from 2kg to 2000kg and travel from 10 to hundreds of millimeters while maintaining sub-micron alignment precision, hexapods are advancing new production possibilities in robotics.
