The AEGIS SGR bearing protection ring, from Electro Static Technology, protects motor bearings from shaft currents induced by adjustable-speed drives.

The AEGIS SGR bearing protection ring, from Electro Static Technology, protects motor bearings from shaft currents induced by adjustable-speed drives. The manufacturer claims that motors to 100 hp/75 kW, fitted with the ring, will not fail from electrical-bearing fluting damage for the life of the motor. If electrically induced fluting occurs, Electro Static will replace the motor bearings free of charge.

The rings are specified by many HVAC, pump, and conveyor manufacturers to mitigate adjustable-speed drive circulating currents and prolong bearing life.
