Bison Gear acquires BLDC motor business

Bison Gear and Engineering Corp., St. Charles, Ill., has acquired the brushless dc (BLDC) electric motor business of Von Weise of Canada Company. Steve Smidler to head KIT Corp.

Kaman Corp. announces that T. Jack Cahill, president of its subsidiary, Kaman Industrial Technologies Corp. (KIT), will retire on August 31. Steven J. Smidler, senior vice president, will assume the role of president following Cahill's departure. KIT is the third largest industrial distributor of bearings, power transmission, fluid power, motion control, and automation products in North America. Heinz-Dieter Schunk wins prestigious robotics award

The robotic industry's highest honor, the Engelberger Robotics Award, was presented to Heinz-Dieter Schunk, Schunk GmbH, and Scott W. Deming, Corning Inc., during the 41st International Symposium on Robotics held during June in Munich, Germany. The awards are named after the “father of robotics,” Joseph F. Engelberger. Each winner received a medallion and honorarium by the Robotic Industries Association (RIA). Heinz-Dieter Schunk, who received the leadership award, developed a small garage business into an international manufacturer of automation components.
