Elastomers with a Tighter Hold

June 3, 2004
RTP 6002 and 6003 elastomers bond tighter to substrates after being two-shot or insert overmolded onto them.

ELASTOMERS WITH A TIGHTER HOLD

They come in Shore A hardnesses of 45, 45, and 75. RTP 6002 bonds best to polcarbonates (PC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrenes (ABS), and PC/ABS alloys, while its 6003 counterpart is better suited for PC/PBT ( Polybutylene Terephthalate) and PC/PMMA ( Polymethylmethacrylate). In addition to providing sure, nonslip grips, the elastomers dampen sound and vibration and resist impacts.
