Light-Grid Sensors

Oct. 21, 2004
The MLG and ELG lines of light-grid sensors have five different beam spacing options, more than 20 detection heights and 10 different output configurations.

LIGHT-GRID SENSORS

The sensors can be used for material handling on conveyors, AS/RS applications, order fulfillment, and in similar applications. The light grids come in standard and programmable models. Standard models perform like a typical through-beam sensor and provide an output if any beam is interrupted. The programmable models have the ability to detect, interpret, and give outputs based on which beams are interrupted and which are not. Typical uses for the nonsafety light grids include detecting package dimension and over-height/overwidth, and measuring continuous-web loop size for proper tension feedback.
