New Product: Nitrogen-Charged Gas Springs

April 10, 2008
The SRS Series of springs reduces bounce in metalforming operations.

The pressurized nitrogen gas in the springs can slow pad rebound to 1.31 fps during the last 30 mm of return travel. The springs accommodate stroke lengths from 125 to 300 mm.

Dampened rebound permits faster return stroke speeds, up to 23 strokes/min at the standard pressure of 2,175 psi. Pressures down to 360 psi can be specified to permit dampening at higher return stroke rates. The springs can be operated as selfcontained units or as part of a hosed system.

The springs can be retrofitted onto most dies, replacing all die springs or just the corner springs. They operate at temperatures up to 176°F.
