A range of medical-grade silicones withstand hundreds of sterilizations and adhere to stainless steel, aluminum, PEEK (polyetheretherkeytone) and Radel R polyphenylsulfone, among other substrates. The USP Class 6 and ISO 10993 implantable-grade materials are for overmolding multiple and single-use medical devices. A proprietary silicone-bonding process creates a hermetic seal between the silicone and overmolded instrument. These bonds withstand repeated autoclaving and prevent body fluids from migrating between surfaces. Custom grades come with a range of Durometer, conductive or insulative properties, and colors.
