A new interface supporting the open-source BiSS Line communication protocol enables both power and encoder signals to be sent through the same line to motors and robotic actuators from magnetic motor-feedback Kit Encoders. Support for one-cable motor-encoder connections is becoming more common in robotics and motion solutions because it reduces system confusion by eliminating excessive wiring and saving space. With the Kit Encoders offering resolutions up to 17-bits, the BiSS interface communicates with simple resolvers, complex optical encoders for servomotors, and robotic joints requiring absolute rotary position feedback.

In a new partnership, the company expands its line of AZ Series absolute mechanical-encoder stepper motors to include new planetary gearheads, a 42-mm motor, and new pulse-input drivers with RS-485 communication, allowing for greater end-user design flexibility and expandability. Combined with the 42-mm, size 48 motors, high-precision gearheads can increase the output torque for overhung and thrust loads. In addition, the two RS-485 pulse-input drivers allow the host PLC to directly monitor driver functions while driving motor pulse and direction. The TCW210-TH data logger targets remote temperature- and humidity- monitoring applications, monitoring up to 8 temperature and temperature-humidity sensors with up to 24 different parameters each.
