Vortex tubes provide a low-cost, maintenance-free solution to industrial spot-cooling problems

Vortex tubes provide a low-cost, maintenance-free solution to industrial spot-cooling problems. Using the characteristics of rapidly rotating air, the tubes convert ordinary 80 to 100-psig compressed air into a stream of air whose temperature can be adjusted to be as cold as –50°F (–46°C). The corrosion-resistant stainless-steel tubes have no moving parts.
